Women Impacting Supply Chain Excellence

Last semester, four of our supply chain women had the opportunity to attend the inaugural WISE Future Leaders Symposium at the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business, along with women from 13 other universities. This “Women Impacting Supply Chain Excellence” conference was hosted to help students learn about the future of supply chain and develop skills to become successful leaders. This conference provided our four women the opportunity to network with other students, recent grads, and industry professionals. Additionally, they had an opportunity to visit and tour the headquarters of some of the most influential companies in the supply chain industry such as Walmart. Our students also visited the very first Walmart store located in the town square in Bentonville, Arkansas. While enjoying 50 cent ice cream and the famous Raising Cane’s chicken, these students were able to learn valuable lessons and skill sets that will help them be future leaders. Carly Goff, a senior in the supply chain program said, “I left this conference feeling empowered and motivated to make an impact in the supply chain industry. I am excited to enter the workforce and make a difference!” Thanks to the WISE Symposium and the guidance of our own great Women in Supply Chain faculty member, Cindy Blair, these four women now feel better prepared to enter the workforce and be excellent leaders in the supply chain industry.
