SCOA – MBA Supply Chain and Ops Association Club Leadership Positions

The following are the SCOA club leadership positions.  To see the current SCOA club leaders click here.

President

Position Type: Nomination and selection by faculty and current leadership

Average Hours per Week: 2-5 hours (depending on events and delegation skills). This position is a little heavier in front of large events like the MBA Orientation trip and Spring Haven retreat.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead vision for the club
  2. Delegate responsibilities among club officers
  3. Get to know all incoming and current SCOA members
  4. Ultimately responsible for the success of all SCOA activities and initiatives
  5. Coordinate SCOA leadership meetings (as often as you need)
  6. Main club contact for the Marriott School and its affiliates

VP of Finance

Position Type: Selection

Average Hours per week: <1

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Work with SCOA President to stay in the black, don’t spend money you don’t have, and don’t be dumb with SCOA dues.

VP of Events

Position Type: Selection

Average Hours: Depending on the events you plan, this can be heavier during the summer as you plan for the orientation trip and lighter the rest of the year

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Lead person in planning the major club events

VP of Activities

Position Type: Selection

Average Hours: Same as other

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Help with activities. Do you have an activity you want to plan? The sky is the limit with this position (as well as other constraints like budget)

VP of External Relations

Position Type: Selection

Average Hours: <1, though it can be heavier in the summer

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Assist with finding alumni to come on the rafting trip as needed.  Organize and coordinate all activities involving alumni: mock interviews, newsletter, etc.

VP of Pro Sems

Position Type: Selection

Average Hours per Week: 1-2

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Help plan the professional seminars in the fall. Do you like how the pro sems went this year? Do you want to change them? That’s what you do.

VP of Engagement

Average Hours per week: 1-2 hours

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Love everybody and get people engaged. Bridge the class gap between 1st and 2nd years. Know everybody’s name.

VP of Communications

Hours per week: less than 1

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Manage communications for the club. Get the word out. Work with MBA Digest people. Use Facebook and stuff like that.

VP of Service

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Lead person in planning/executing club service projects.

VP of International Outreach

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Work with international students to feel involved. Work as an additional resource to help international students in the Supply Chain job recruiting environment

VP of Skill Development

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Lead in planning and coordinating events/activities that will equip SCOA members with additional skills they need to be successful in the work field.

VP of Whatever You Want

Position Type: Selection

Average Hours per week: 1-100

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Do what you want, plan an event, network with people, and make a difference. Do you have an idea but don’t see a specific “VP of XXXX” for that? Make your own position!
