Speakers at this event are executives from major companies: Lindsey Schwab from Walmart (formerly with Kohls and Nordstrom), and Kate Short from Nestlé. Lindsey and Kate will share their experiences working in retail and product industries and how an insider perspective can help you be a better consumer. Learn secrets of getting lower costs and higher value in your shopping by taking advantage of how companies operate.

Refreshments will be served, and there will be drawings for a $250 Walmart gift card and other great prizes.

Speaker bios

Lindsey Schwab is a retail executive boasting nearly two decades of comprehensive omni-channel retail expertise. Presently, she is the Vice President of Merchandising Operations for Apparel at Walmart US. Before her tenure at Walmart, Lindsey spent seven years at Nordstrom, serving as the Director of Omni Planning for Menswear across both the United States and Canada. Lindsey’s retail journey commenced at Kohl’s Department Stores, where she undertook various planning and merchant responsibilities, playing a pivotal role in driving regional assortments during their nationwide expansion.

Kate Short is the Chief Procurement Officer for Nestlé Zone North America. Throughout her 20-year career, Kate has exhibited tremendous leadership during historic changes and transformational activities within the procurement function. After more than a decade in procurement and marketing roles at Intel Corporation, Kate joined Nestlé USA in September 2012 as the Director of Marketing Procurement. In this role, Kate partnered closely with Nestlé’s Center for Marketing Excellence to implement key strategies that were eventually adopted globally, such as decoupling and establishing in-house studios. Passionate about talent development and building deep business partnerships and teams, Kate assumed the role of Business Partner Head of Procurement for Nestlé USA in 2016. In this role, she was responsible for leading the team to reimagine procurement partnership within each part of the business resulting in stronger connections and representation on the leadership teams. During her tenure, the Business Partner teams created deeper conversations around business continuity and sustainability to help drive strategic plans and lead strategic conversations to ensure the supply of thousands of materials during a global crisis. Kate is a wife, a mother to three children and a two-time breast cancer survivor who mentors women battling breast cancer in the Northern Virginia area. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Brigham Young University.
